Coarsegold Systems ("we", "us", "our") built SpEdStar as a commercial application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when you use SpEdStar.

Information Collection and Use

SpEdStar does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers. All content you create — lessons, media, learner profiles, goal data, and tracking records — is stored locally on your device and never leaves it.

The app does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking services of any kind. User accounts (creator and learner profiles) are created and stored entirely on your device. There is no cloud storage, no remote authentication, and no social features.

Network Activity

The only network communication SpEdStar performs is a periodic license validation check to confirm your purchase. This check transmits a device identifier and license token to our license server. No personal information, app content, or usage data is included in this communication.

The clip art browser's online search feature (FreeSVG and OpenMoji) makes requests to third-party websites when you actively search for clip art. These requests are initiated only by your action and contain only your search query. No personal information is transmitted.

Children's Privacy

SpEdStar is designed for use by adults (parents, educators, tutors, caregivers) working with learners of all ages, including children. The app does not collect any personal information from any user, including children. All data remains on-device under the control of the adult creator who manages the app.

Data Storage and Security

All app data is stored on your device's local storage. Backup files are encrypted with AES-256 using a passphrase you set. We have no access to your data, your backups, or your passphrase.
